"MEP Performing Video Consultation" lasted the whole Friday afternoon.
We all got to watch our performances for the MEP mid year exam on video. I discovered one, just one miserable good thing about myself. I maintained a wooden expression throughout the whole performance, even when I made mistakes.
Just as I was about to pop the champagne and celebrate,
Ms Ng said,
"I was so amazed that you could play to the end, even when you started to play nonsense, you had no reaction." Hence she wrote on top of my score
"What are you playing on this page?!"
Ironically, I practiced the hardest for that page.
Heart breaks as if on cue.
But it's okay! I'll practice hard!
Harder, I mean.
Which reminds me, everyone else applying for VJ DSA (String Ensemble) has her audition this coming sat. All except me. I was speaking so fast into the receiver I don't think the person from VJ understood me. After hearing from Claire that their conductor said a violinist plays "like a mechanical dog", I'm rather afraid at the prospect of getting slain on the day of my audition, which has not been arranged. I'm still waiting for the call. And I'm getting rather worried.
Have they forgotten about me?Off I go to practice my Spring Song and Gavotte.
I will not give the conductor a chance to say I play like a mechanical dog. I WILL NOT! (shakes fist at imaginary conductor)
Anyway, guess what! My toothbrush is on an advert on tv! =)
