It's been a tough day, but we survived.

I'm really, really glad that mei and I were honest with each other. No one wanted to give up her place for the other, because we knew this opportunity wouldn't come knocking twice.

Because we're such close friends, it was hard to make the decision. Drawing lots was agonizing. Because we couldn't face each other, we stood with a wall between us.

I saw mei crying after taking a peek over the wall. I lost control, and quickly hid behind my side of the wall as the first of tears started rolling down my cheeks. Oli prompted me to give mei a hug so I'd feel better, but I just couldn't do it. I couldn't face her at that moment.

Two deep breaths later, I stopped hiding behind the wall and reached out to hug mei.

We must have looked crazy, hugging the the middle of the corridor with tears dripping down our faces as Ms Yeo and the rest watched in silence.

Thank you all for the notes that to tell me how ugly I look when I cry, and reminding me that it's okay to be "not okay" (which actually translates into "nat you can continue crying") and for giving me semi hugs.

To mei, thank you for being honest with me. It isn't anyone's fault that this had to happen. It's pure luck, and you don't have to feel bad that you drew the lot with the tick.

I'm disappointed, yes. Angry, no.

I'm alright. Things are fine. =)

Yep, that's about all.
