One Litre of Tears.

As the title suggests, each one of us who watched it cried a litre of tears, or probably even more. It isn't one of those soapy dramas where you watch and cry and forget about it the next day.

This is real. This is the inspiring story about the girl who had spinocerebellar degeneration disease, but managed to live life to the fullest and brought encouragement and courage to many in Japan then.

It was so real, it seemed like Aya herself was reaching out and seizing me.

You never know what life's going to give you. Aya was merely 15 when she discovered she had that incurable disease. Yet she still stared fear in the eye and lived a remarkable life for another 10 years. If I were in her shoes, I know I wouldn't have the guts to face up to it.

I'm proud to say that after all the tears, I've drawn strength and courage from Aya to face all the challenges that come my way (they're peanuts as compared to hers) and to live for today.

For now, I'm cherishing the fact that I can complete my 2.4km run. Heck, I'm just happy I can run. I'm glad I can bound up the stairs. I'm happy I can talk properly. I'm happy I can eat without assistance. I'm happy to be alive.

Are you living for today? Are you cherishing life and every little thing that you usually overlook? Have you told someone you love them?

Do it, before your chance slips away.
