ARC dinner last night was fine. Just fine. No sarcasm! Thankfully, I didn't spill my water on the table, or do something embarrassing.
Anyway, halfway through dinner, Jaz Loh did a solo on her violin. I nearly choked on my food. She was playing Czardas! Incidentally, string ensemble's playing that piece now too. Unfortunately, hers sounded a thousand times better than ours.
I'm not ashamed to say this, but, she alone can knock out our entire Violin I and II sections. Flat. To top it all off, she's merely 8! Ouch, double blow.
I wish our string members were there to hear it. Their jaws would drop right to the floor, and they'll just drop dead and die after listening to her play. She's got the right feel of the song. Hers is energetic, ours is plain sleepy. Her notes are perfectly in tune, never missing a beat, and her little fingers move across the fingerboards at breakneck speed, like the song calls for. Aye. Triple blow!
SYF's next year, I wonder whether we can pull through. Gone are the years where we clinched Gold. Gone are the "Wendy-Chelsea-" years where our standards were up there and not down here.
We'll have to practice, practice and practice. Hard. And cross our fingers for SYF.
I'm in a good mood! It's one of my smile at that pile of homework and cats at the void deck moods. I have no idea why, but it's a good thing, so I'm not complaining!
Maybe because joey said this to me during tuition. "Jie jie, come! (gestures for me to 'come') I love YOOOOO!"
Darn, I wanted to faint. Isn't that just sweet. I haven't heard that in a long time. Anyway, I love all of yooooooo too!
