It's really eerie to see myself in a couple of photos, with the New York skyline as my backdrop, especially with the twin towers still standing proudly.
And 9/11's just two days away.
Shudder.
Rita mentioned in her last email that Gary just graduated from high school and is working before he goes off to college.
I'm finding it hard to visualise him as a mature guy now. In my muffled memory, he's still that cheeky little boy who tried to kiss me the very first time I met him in california.
I've got to admit, he's got taste! I really was cute when I was five. Still am cute, by the way.
Oh, I'm proud to say that I was always slightly taller than him, although he's older. FOR ONCE, I'M ACTUALLY TALLER THAN SOMEONE! Now let me gloat for a while before I return to the mind shattering reality of people taller than me. (I heard he's taller than me now. Damn.)
I remember him gallantly giving me the ring he won, and he demanded it back the minute I accepted it. Roll eyes. We bickered the whole day over a silly plastic ring. (read: childish)
Get ready for this, it's ridiculous. That night, I put the ring in an ashtray and held the ashtray to sleep at the hotel. And the next day, I lost the ring.
Another fond memory would be of us waiting out on the doorstep of david's house for the ice cream man! We'd eat our icecream in contented silence on the steps. I never could finish my ice cream/ice ball, and he would always finish it for me.
I'm amazed by the fact that I do remember all this.
That's all I remember of him, afterall he's living on the other side of the globe! And I've never seen him again for the past 8 years. I'm curious about him. Curious is not to be confused with interested, thank you very much.
It's hard to define our relationship. He's ellen's nephew. Ellen is my sister in law. Which makes him my...?
Photographs capture moments for eternity.
Okay,
almost as long as eternity.
So, smile for the camera!
